Easter Opening Times at Park Medical Group

We wanted to let patients know about our opening times over the Easter period, what to do to prepare, and how to get medical help when the practice is closed.

Read through or jump to sections with the buttons below.

Bank Holidays

As normal, Park Medical Group will be closed for the two Easter Bank holidays:

  • Good Friday on 29th March
  • Easter Monday on 1st April

This means the practice will close at the end of the day on Thursday, March 28th, and not reopen until the morning of Tuesday, April 2nd.

Reorder repeat prescriptions early

If you have regularly prescribed medication that needs to be reordered, please do so as soon as possible.

Please allow at least three full working days from requesting a repeat prescription to it being available to collect.

The quickest and easiest way to order a repeat prescription is through the NHS App.

You can also choose a regular pharmacy to collect your medication, or if you are away from home, you can generate a bar code to pick up your prescription at any other pharmacist.

Pharmacy Opening Times

In addition to making sure there is enough time for us to process your prescription requests, please be aware of the opening times of your chosen Pharmacy.

Find your pharmacy and their Easter opening hours here.

Think Pharmacy First

Pharmacies can also now help with more common conditions than ever before, including medication without a prescription or the need to see a GP first.

Here’s what you get help with:

  • Earache/ear infections (aged 1-17)
  • Impetigo/skin infections (1 year +)
  • Infected insect bites (1 year +)
  • Shingles (Aged 18+)
  • Sinusitis (Aged 12+)
  • Sore throats (5 years +)
  • Uncomplicated Urinary Tract Infections, or UTIs (Women aged 16-64)

Over 10,000 pharmacies – 95% of all those in England – have signed up.

Remember, you don’t need an appointment. You can visit any Pharmacy, and they are often open when we are closed, especially over Easter.

NHS 111

For more medical help when the practice is closed,  you can use NHS 111.

By visiting 111.NHS.uk, using the NHS App or by calling 111, you can:

  • Get help and advice 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • Check your symptoms and get advice on conditions and medication.
  • Find self-help resources and links.
  • Find out what services are available near you.
  • Be connected to a nurse, emergency dentist, pharmacist, or GP.
  • Get a face-to-face appointment if you need one.

You should only ever call 999 or go to Accident and Emergency if it is a life-threatening situation.

Urgent Care

The Ponteland Road Urgent Treatment Centre in Cowgate is a Nurse-led unit for patients with minor illnesses and injuries. No appointment is needed; you can turn up and wait to be treated.

Happy Easter

We would like to wish all patients at Park Medical Group a Happy Easter.
