circled_dayUrgent Appointments - for urgent (same day) appointments we run a Rapid Access/Triage System. By urgent appointment we mean the agreement to see a patient the same day because the next routinely bookable appointment would not have been appropriate.

The Rapid Access/Triage System works each weekday morning and we undertake to see patients the same day under the above circumstances as long as they have contacted us during the morning (as early as possible but normally before 10:30).

The system is jointly run by a doctor and a nurse practitioner and normally most requests for care will be dealt with by call back to discuss the situation further. Medical advice can also be accessed through this service. If you are unsure whether your problem is urgent or not, we would encourage you to contact us via this system for advice.

Emergencies - If your problem is an emergency and needs immediate attention, please ensure the receptionist knows this and she will contact a doctor or nurse straight away.

Non-urgent/Routine Appointments - Our practice operates from two surgery sites and routine appointments should normally be booked at the surgery you regularly attend. Some services e.g. Rapid Access Clinic, Physiotherapy, Counselling etc may be available on only one site. Details will be confirmed at the time of referral by a GP or booking at reception.

Routine (non-urgent) appointments can be booked from about three weeks in advance. Please let the reception team know which GP you would like to see. We provide later appointments at Kingston Park on a Monday night to help improve access for those who work. Patients from either surgery may book one of these by telephoning the Kingston Park surgery. As with other appointments, these must be booked in advance.

From 2nd March 2020 eConsultations will allow patients to contact the surgery for any non-urgent and routine matters.

General Points

  • One appointment - one patient - please do not ask the doctor to see other members of your family during your appointment as this causes longer waiting times for everyone.
  • Always make sure the receptionist is aware that you are in the waiting room.
  • Arrangements can be made for an interpreter to be present but please inform us at the time of booking your appointment in advance if you will need this service.

Nurse Surgeries

These are by appointment only and the length of the appointment varies according to the reason for the appointment. You will be asked to state this when booking.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
