To maintain a safe service and adhere to social distancing rules access to both sites is restricted. Access to waiting areas are via intercom system and are for pre-booked appointments only as we need to control the footfall within our premises due to social distancing rules.

From Monday 16th March all new appointments booked with a GP will be telephone consultations. Should a clinician feel you need a face to face consultation an appointment time will be given.  As we are experiencing a higher volume of calls, if you are unable to reach the Practice via telephone then please use our eConsult system.

Fitnotes are not required for the first 7 days of absence from work. If you need an isolation note for your employer these can be obtained from

Repeat PrescriptionsNice_vlue_pills

The practice offers patients a number of ways to re-order repeat medication:

Online - follow the link at the top of this page to complete a simple registration.

Local Pharmacies - an ordering and collection service is available at most pharmacies.

In writing -  hand in a written request, or the ticked dedicated order sheet issued with the previous prescription.

By telephone - call 0191 285 9580 (Fawdon) or 0191 271 5826 (Kingston Park) between 11:30 - 12:30. At all other times you will hear a recorded message advising you to ring back when the lines are open.  We will not accept telephone prescription requests outside of this time and strongly encourage patients to use alternative methods. This service is for vulnerable patients who find it difficult to access services.

Patients are now requested to nominate a Pharmacy and the Practice will send your prescription electronically.  It will save you time calling into the Practice to collect your prescription and cuts down on fraud or problems.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

48_hoursWe undertake to have the prescription ready within 2 working days. We advise that you request most repeat medications at least one week before you need your new supply. This allows you greater flexibility in arranging your collection.

Please ensure that you order sufficient medication for holidays or other travel arrangements and that you allow adequate time for processing and collection. To assist our workflow it is also helpful if you can order a few days earlier than normal in the period leading up to Bank Holidays, especially Christmas, New Year and Easter.
